Helen Clarke

Helen Clarke has lived in East Anglia all her life and works from her studio at her home in Great Wilbraham.

'Watercolour is an exciting medium, creating beautiful and surprising effects. The joy is that the outcome is uncertain, as the watercolour takes on a life of its own, anything, including happy accidents can form in a spontaneous and unique way'.

Painting has been Helen's passion for many years, and her aim is to create images which lift the spirit and enhance life.

Natural objects and still life are Helen's forte, she particulary loves flowers and tries to capture the essence of their beauty in loose and sometimes semi-abstract style, introducing acyrlics or watercolour inks and experimenting with collage and tissue. Using a variety of paper complements flower studies most effectively bringing elements of texture and vitality into her work.

Helen Clarke is a member of The Society of East Anglian Watercolourists.  Helen teaches small workshops from her studio.

Helen Clarke is a participating artist in the 'Fruits and Blooms Exhibition' 15th May - 5th June 2015
