Susan Isaac Wins En Plein Air Competition
Congratulations to Gallery artist Susan Isaac for winning first prize in the Saturday Nocturne session of the recent 'Paint Out Norwich' competition.
Susan Isaac took part in a regional plein air competition - 'Paint Out Norwich' - and was awarded 1st prize in the competition's 'Nocturne' category. It was a 5-day event with 36 artists from around the UK, completing paintings in the open ('en plein air'), at a variety of locations around the city of Norwich. There were two sessions during daylight hours on each day plus 'nocturne' sessions on Saturday and Sunday evenings and it was Susan's painting of the church of St Peter Mancroft, created during the 2-hour Saturday nocturne session, that won her the prize. The competition was judged by Dr Giorgia Bottinelli (Curator of historic art at Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery), Sarah Flynn (Associate Director of Fine Art & Head of Paintings, Cheffins) and Tony Robinson (Founder of Art in the Open, Wexford, Eire).
